"You see? Everything’s all right."
I made these matching Clerith themed sketchbooks as holiday gifts for two dear friends of mine 🥰 I hand carved and printed the Buster Sword and lilies design for the front covers and painted the entire end page illustration with acrylic ink and a brush pen. I decided to do coptic stitch binding so the sketchbooks could lay flat and also used yellow cardstock around each signature since I thought it would look nice with the exposed spine 💛
I started this project back in 2023 after I finished playing the original Final Fantasy VII game, it just took me until this year to actually work on the illustration for the end pages and bind everything since I was worried about how I’d pull it off. But I’m happy and proud of how they came out!
hi i just realized i never posted this on here, only on ig. so tldr i got into an lpn program yayyyy (which is honestly just me going Back into the medical field, i used to have cna and emt certs but they lapsed between finishing hs and now) and the books and uniforms cost a little over 1k but i'm only trying to cover half of that with art. the good news is that once everything is paid for now i'm good for the next two years! i put a bunch of the prints, postcards, and stickers in my shop on sale and since then i've made it to about 135/500 of my goal
i already ordered the books bc i want to get ahead on studying and had to make sure my neighbor didnt steal $800 worth of textbooks but unfortunately my credit card has grown little hands to strangle me with
i'd post pics of my art here but tumblr refuses to let me post if i try to do literally anything so please take a look at my tag #my art.

Rupture - 18x24 Linoleum with oil based inks
Last fall my printmaking professor handed me this huge linoleum and said to do whatever I want on it, and I happened to be taking a seminar on Christian ethics at the time. Between that class, and getting diagnosed with PCOS that year I had been thinking a lot about my body and purpose as someone born female. That crushing weight of being expected to reproduce, and be a vessel for a husband and son- it feels like something out of the middle ages even though its the 21st century. This work was a bit of a vent on that frustration, and I had a ton of fun carving something so large for the first time. Its been about a year since this, and I am finishing my senior year of my bachelors in art but I still am pretty proud of this piece.
