Okay, but when in the show were you told that Isaac was in France? Because from what I've heard (as I did not watch season 4), no one ever mentioned Isaac once. Like Danny, he inexplicably wasn't there. Casual viewers who don't hang on every media appearance of the cast/writers of Teen Wolf would never know this shit.
Saying where Cora is now doesn't tell us how she survived the fire or where she was in the interim.
Watching the show and shipping are not mutually exclusive activities, in fact I tend to find that shippers have a greater grasp of what's happening in canon than casual viewers because we're that much more invested in the show. Maybe the same can't be said for all of your shipper friends, but that's just the thing about people: they all behave in very different ways when it comes to the things they're passionate about.
