After decades of militant atheism, Russian Communists turn to religious establishment to gain supporters.
For me the socio-political is religious. The economic is religious. Being anti-capitalist and pro-queer is religious. Because they all involve working diligently so others stop being stripped of their humanity because their lives are treated like they don’t matter in a self-perpetuating system of dominance based in oppression. Please stop coming to me to say I need to “calm down” or “compromise”. I will not compromise on human rights. Even if I wanted to I have a moral duty to defend the human rights of others, to be outspoken, to make you uncomfortable, to make space for those who have never had spaces made for them, to help everyone in the circle stand when they want to fall. This is my calling, not just my duty. It’s my way of life. I also don’t need anyone to try to pry my religion from my cold dead hands because they think I need to be an atheist to do what’s right by people. Fight me bitch.
Once an activist always an activist. I've been taking a break for about two years now but I'm ready to come back to the work. Let's change the word everyone.
