Annunciation Discovery Blurb -> gabriel (spn) x reader
Ok, today it’s the 25th March. Which, in Catholicism, is the Annunciation Day. And since I LOVE writing on purpose for those things, here it is a Gabriel blurb about this topic!
I actually had planned to write a whole One Shot about this, but studying came into the middle and time wasn’t enough. I am still writing it and posting it though, but I just wanted to post something on the same day because I’m obsessed with these things.
Enjoy some Sam & Dean banter and some Gabe x Reader moments!! Hope you like it!
Only warning: established relationship, religious mentions ofc and implied mate!reader.
Gabriel was staring at you mouth agape.
Sam and Dean just dropped THE bomb. The one you hoped will never come out. The one that was part of the life you left behind far before you joined the supernatural world. And now, your mate was watching at you as if you were handling the mysteries of the hunters upon your head. Which was funny, since he was one of the first beings ever created in this universe to begin with.
"Can't believe you didn't tell him about your own birthday," Dean winked, cracking a chuckle.
"You're making a big deal out of nothing," you muttered softly. "There's nothing to celebrate. It's a day just like many other."
"But you were born on the 25th March," Sam continued. "You know that with the life we live, nothing is ever a mere coincidence."
You glanced up at Gabriel. Now, he was looking at you with that smile of his you grew so obsessed with. And as he linked the dots together, that smirk grew even bigger.
"Today is your birthday?" he asked.
You nodded and stood up. "Yeah, and I already know what Sam is getting at. So, I excuse myself."
"Wait, what?" Dean looked confused. "I thought we were talking about a party!"
You looked at Sam. A party, you wouldn't have minded. After all, you have always been an extrovert, enjoying any form of chaos at any given occasion. You could never turn down having some fun, especially if you put some pranks and tricks in the middle.
Which, with Gabe and you being together, by now was a given.
"That's not what Sammy meant, he's not you," you shrugged. “If it was just about a party, I would be already all in for it. Don’t you think?”
"Then what..." Dean was more confused, but Sam decided to take him out from his misery and took a deep breath.
Gabriel was still looking at you with that smirk, his wings trembling in what seemed excitement. You stopped yourself from rolling your eyes at him. This was going to get weird.
"The 25th March, in Catholic religion, is recognized as the Annunciation Day," Sam explained carefully, glancing both at you and Gabriel, while all you wanted was bolting away in your room. "That's when the figure of Christ had been announced."
"Yes, and?" Dean wasn't getting it.
You really wanted to facepalm yourself, but at the same time you felt sorry for him. Anyway, you remained where you were.
"Oh, please, don't you ever read? Or studying religions and lore it's just up to me and Bobby?" Sam sighed, defeated. "The Holy Annunciation is one of the most famous events of the Bible. It's when the birth of Jesus was announced to Mary by an angel," he continued, glancing again and then Gabe before terminating. "That angel being the Archangel Gabriel."
Dean almost spit his beer. "You were born the day the whole world celebrate your boyfriend?"
You felt yourself getting warmer as your cheeks reddened. "Apparently."
Dean tilted his head back and laughed. Loudly. "Well, no wonder you ended up being his mate."
You didn't answer, still feeling a little awkward. You didn't move as you heard the chair scraping on the pavement and felt Gabriel approaching. You never needed to see him, you always felt when he got close. Your soul recognized his grace as part of its own.
And the other way around.
His hands were on your face, his fingers searching your chin to guide you head towards his. Then he smiled, not winked, not chuckled, but smiled. One of his real, sweet and truthful smiles, the kind that he reserved just for you and that were capable of making you melt.
"Well, the Big Old Guy up there knows how to play with fate. And this time, he played just right," he murmured loud enough for everybody to hear, then his voice got lower, just for you. "Happy birthday then, sugarplum."
You smiled, nudging him with your shoulder. "Should I celebrate you too?"
"Oh, no need," he whispered, wiggling his eyebrows. "I already celebrate every damn day by remembering I get to have you as my mate and that I had finally found you."
Instinctually, you tried to hide your face into his neck, but he stopped your attempted hug by grabbing your face into his hands and approaching. Everything faded away as you closed your eyes right before his lips found yours in a slow, deeply felt kiss.
"Ugh, guys, PDA!" you heard Dean groaning in complaint, but you couldn't care in the slightest.
You just tilted your head and kissed your mate back.
A.N: can’t wait to post the actual one shot about this! And stay sure, there will be a similar scene but not the same. I wrote this on the spot right now, and it’s not proof read so I apologise for that. The OS will be better, I promise! In the meanwhile, I hope you enjoyed.
We really need more Gabe writings.
