Bad blood and dirty magick
What I’m about to write is my hypothesis. An educated guess that’s come from years and years as a chaos magician.
So getting on with it, blood magick. The coup de grace of the forbidden and arcane. Do you know why? It’s because it’s a promise between you and whoever the Gods your petitioning. Alot of mages simply won’t do it, because when it goes sideways or if you do it wrong, it can go very wrong. I’ve been doing it for a long time but only out of nessesity as one should. Don’t dally with Blood magick simply because you can. So one of the things I learned recently is never to use old blood. Menses might seem like a gimme to a blood mage but it’s not. Know why? Because you stored that blood away and now it kinda smells. I was the ignorant lout that decided it was mine and came from me so hmm, only matters what the symbolic use is to me right? Wrong. As that blood you’ve saved begins to age, so do your needs magickly. That blood is stuck in time, the moment it came out of your body is the only time it’s good for. As gross as it smells right now, that’s your spell rotting. Careful boys and girls don’t make my mistakes.
