Paths need to be chosen sometimes. Even when you don't want to.
Dia De Los Muertos [Day of the Dead]
The origins of the celebration of the Day of the Dead in Mexico, can be traced to the time of the Indians of Mesoamerica, such as the Aztecs, Mayans, Purepecha, Nahua, and Totonac. Rituals celebrating the lives of ancestors were made by these civilizations for at least the past 3,000 years. In the prehispanic era it was common practice to keep skulls as trophies and display them during the rituals to symbolize death and rebirth. The festival that became the Day of the Dead fell in the ninth month of the Aztec Solar Calendar, near the beginning of August, and was celebrated for an entire month.
The festivities were dedicated to the god Mictecacihuatl, known as the "Lady of Death" (now corresponds with “La Catrina"). The festivities were dedicated to the celebration of children and the lives of deceased relatives. When the Spanish conquistadors arrived in America in the fifteenth century, they were terrified by the pagan practices of the natives, and in an attempt to convert Native Americans to Catholicism moved the festival to start dates in November to coincide with the Catholic holidays of all Saints Day and all Souls.
In modern times, Dia De Los Muertos is held over a two-day period. November 1st honors the souls of children and November 2nd honors the souls of adults. Because the dead have a long journey to visit their relatives, they need water so they won’t dehydrate, light for guidance, and flowers to feel welcomed. This celebrations are joyful and happy, instead of feeling scared and fearful of the spirits
One of the common symbols are the Day of the Dead skeletons, which celebrants represent the skulls with masks. They also have sugar skulls, which have inscribed the names of the deceased (or in some cases of people living in the form of jokes) on the forehead, are eaten by relatives or friends. Other special dishes include Muertos Day of the Dead bread, sweet muffin made from egg baked in different shapes, from simple round shapes, skulls and rabbits. During the period of November 1-2 families usually clean and decorate the graves with colorful wreaths of flowers (roses, sunflowers, etc..), Which is believed to attract the souls of the dead. In the event that you can not visit the tomb a detailed home altar is made where offerings are made, which can be food dishes, bread of the dead, water glasses, mezcal, tequila, pulque or atole, and even toys for the souls of children. All this is placed next to portraits of the deceased surrounded by candles.
I have found that one of the hardest thing to do as one gets better in every aspect is to continue your worship as was. Lately I have been doing it really fast or rushed because my time is starting to dwindle to almost nothing lately because of all the activities I am in.
Today I took my time and really listened.
As the distance widens I realize how much I don't want it to. As I watch Him through my fingers I realize how much time I really can spend.
It's all about prioritizing. I haven't been doing that but now i know and I will change it.
I forgot today was D-day and I somehow ended up baking biscuits and making tortillas.
Good thing too, I get to give Him good offerings today, food-wise.

Ares-- I have come to learn the necessity of war inside ones heart for the world is cruel it takes no prisoners and neither should we.
Fight for ourselves defeat those who stand in our path without mercy, protect those who can't and show respect to blood even if it they turn their backs. Drenched in blood I have come to realize the power in passions but need of moderation. Control my rage but know when to use it. Ares-- I stand in change, learned to embrace it, as I fell I understood the ravage desire to fight till the very end.
