My Underland Chronicles AUs and Upcoming Fics!
Mage AU: Gregor is a light mage; Ares is his familiar. They get into shenanigans. Some of these include accidentally inventing lasers, Gregor being the first known combative light mage, unsupervised laser use for terraforming, Ares being able to change his size, and the questionable use of lasers as party tricks
Uncertain when it'll be done, but I do know the fic is going to be titled Burning Stars
Larry and Angelina find the Underland: Larry and Angelina find the Underland. Perhaps a little bit of a cliche thing to do, but I've found there aren't nearly as many of them as I would like, so I figured I'd take a shot at it. Larry and Angelina find the Underland, freak out in a very loud manner, Ripred causes drama, and Ares mentally repeats over and over how glad he is that Gregor wasn't and still isn’t a ‘shouty one’

Ghost Ares: Ares comes back as a ghost; Gregor comes to pick him up. His family now has to learn how to live with a giant ghost bat, while Ares has to learn to exist in Virginia. Grace wonders what about her children makes them such weirdness magnets (she loves them, tho.) A crossover between Danny Phantom and The Underland Chronicles, though after Gregor and Ares reunite, the Danny Phantom character pretty much drops off, with only the mechanics of how ghosts work playing a role.

Canon Soulbonds AU: Essentially, it's going to be the first part of Gregor the Overlander, were it written to be in a soul bond world. I might end up making snippets of later books or possibly filling in space between books, but it will not be its own fully fleshed-out story.
Possessive Ares: A self-indulgent fic pondering what things could have been like if Ares and Gregor were allowed to spend more time together and had longer before the final battle. This one might be a little OOC when it comes to Ares because he is more than a little possessive and dark. Maybe that last part is actually totally in character, and we just don't get to see it, thinking about the scene from Prophecy of Bane.
The human, school-age sold bond AU: Overbonds AU! At the moment, this is just going to be a series of Tumblr posts as I outline it, but I do want to actually write it at some point. Not certain how soon that would be, given that the Tumblr posts are pretty detailed for supposedly just being outlines; I might shelf it for a while once I’m done with the posts.
The Vegas AU: Inspired by a series of asks between me, my sister, and some anons, which I used as a base for my 2020 Flufftober piece: Fluff and Stuff TUC Edition. It’s a really funny AU, but also a pretty complicated one.
My preexisting fics for it are set after the main plot because of that. I do want to write the main story, it's just going to take a bit of time. Because of how complicated it is (and the fact that none of us ever gave it a tag), I’m going to give it its own post.
And it's done! With 33 votes in total (which is the most I've ever gotten on an original poll I'm pretty sure) the results are in!
Taking first place is Ares and the Shouty Ones, with 13 votes!

So I'll be working on ASO first and foremost (of these fics, I have others in work for a different fandom) with our life and death next in the queue.
Hmmmmm okay, Nezha 2019/2025 enjoyers, I need advice. I'm in the process of writing some fics for it. Whether or not I ever publish them is still up in the air, but assuming I did, how off-put would you be by some of them being crossovers? I have some ideas that take place just in the film's universe, but there are one or two that would require me to make my own OCs for outsider POVS. And while I could do that, I could make it into a crossover and thus not have to spend way too much time making OCs.
Currently, Tumblr is putting a fair amount of Lego Monkie Kid on my dash so at the moment that's what I'm thinking I'd do. But I'm undecided on the whole thing so I thought I'd see if I could get some outside thoughts.

Getting in a duel with a teacher was never high on his list of things to do. In fact it wasn't on his list of things to do, and there was a lot of weird things on that list.

Asked my friend for a Siken Line they wanted to see Corjin down with, and they picked: Someone has to leave first. This is a very old story. There is no other version of this story. My first and immediate thought was Jin's POV towards the end of SAM. Also it's like midnight and I'm writing this on my phone in bed, I'll edit it tomorrow, sorry for any mistakes until then.
Jin's heart felt heavy in his chest. He tried to convince himself that it was because of what he had just heard.
And in part, it was.
He had liked professor Orden. She had been quick witted and had never treated him differently from any of her other students. She had pushed him, but never in a hard way like the teachers back home had. She wasn't perfect by any means, but she had been decent, good even.
Or so he had thought.
But she had so easily admitted to being a part of the group that had kidnapped Tenjin, to wanting to make superweapons, to having used Edria as a distraction, to the fact that she been willing to choose war to cover to tracks.
No, he didn't have to lie to convince himself that part of the pain he felt was because of her. It was.
The other was because of the enchanter breathing heavily, face twisted slightly in pain.
Corin had rejected Orden with a fierceness that had soothed Jin's soul. He might have judged Orden wrong, but he hadn't made the same mistake with Corin.
But even that hurt.
It hurt because it meant Corin was good. That he was good and kind and naive and he was going to hate Jin for what he had to do.
It would mean no more laughing during test, no more days in the library, no more random visited thinly veiled as meetings about commissions, no date to the winter ball, no more anything.
But that was fine. He could live without those things. He had lived without them for 17 years. He would be fine.
It was his own fault anyway.
He knew he shouldn't have gotten attached, he was a Dalen and Corin was a Cadence. He was Kelridgish, Corin was Vailaian. He was from a deposed but loved noble house, Corin was from a new and disliked one.
They were never going to work out, things between poeple like them never did. Any history book would tell you that. He ignored the quite, pleading voice in the back of his mind that whispered that that didn't have to be true because Jin was different, that Corin was different.
He tried to focus on the positive-ish instead. It was a good thing this had happened. He would have never been strong enough to cut things off otherwise. He wasn't sorry for what he was about to do. He was sorry it would hurt Corin, but one boy's feelings weren't worth his country's existence, no matter how wonderful that boy was.
With a deep breath he raised his gun and aimed it at the unconscious Vera.
