"Six months?! But Teri, if I scroll back, you've only started this tumblr around four months ago!" yes. And you would be right. However, I did also mention that I spent two months working on Remedium before bringing it to the public eye.
And we'll talk about how Remedium came to be, yeah? Because it's been six months, now, since I started this project. Half a bloody year. And I am so, so thankful for everything its brought me.
So, let's get started.
It all started with Project LUMEN. This amazing project, @project-lumen, who started a year and a half ago, debuted by two of my friends at the time, where I'd applied and gotten accepted. And I... went crazy.
I applied as a writer. At the time, I could not identify as an artist or a coder. But I loved being a writer for this project so much. And it grew, it grew, and with it, I made friends, friends who also loved this project. Together, we have dreams and we have ambitions.
I knew that after Lumen, I wanted to make more games. But I didn't think I could do it. Not when I was just a writer.
And then I got into pixel art, joined the pixel art and UI team within Lumen, learnt that I could actually learn new skills, be worthy, and make something cool beyond words on screen...
And, eventually, I had my VSMP hyperfixation.
that. This is it. This is where it all started.
Except thats not true. As it says "this was all written in one sitting", there was eleven pages of google docs before this little note. Notes that have only grown since then.
This is it. This is where it all sits. On the "TND II Electric Boogaloo" doc. Which is a doc which was initially for my friend, @seafoamwaffle's fanfiction "These New Dreams" sequel, which is a Jimmy centric Stardew Valley Life Series AU. This is where it all started.
(And if you know me from my fanfictions as well, this very doc is also where all my fanfiction sits. It is literally just a hang out place for all of mine, Foam's, and sometimes other people's creative fandom (and sometimes original!) projects.)
But... this is all history. and you're not here for history, come on, we know this. So. Here's pieces of content, pulled right from this doc, made throughout my time working on Remedium.
This is... just sad. I didn't know anything about coding. My guy. Don't worry. You will learn. No, it is not python, you don't know shit about coding, do you? LOL
This was made before I pulled the bandaid and decided I would made Remedium a thing. This will not be in Remedium, as the dimensions are wrong. But... yeah. It's fun to look at.
The map of Oakhurst! Except I simply do not provide context. Here are squares and dots and things and you can try to figure out what it means.
and, finally...
We have a release date for Remedium's Demo. I've mentioned this before in other posts, and while I used the excuse of "Well, Pantheon didn't announce THEIR release date yet!" I cannot do that anymore, seeing they did. You will have to wait slightly longer for Remedium's, however. But I will say... I got someone to make a poster for it. And it looks good. Be on the look out for any new posts from Remedium in August!
andddddd, that's it. Surely. You're happy with this content, aren't you? Come on. This post's getting long. There have been many images share, and I've even teased the release date of the demo! I'm never this specific with my update posts, come on! Be grateful!
...okay fine here's Legundo's sprite.
Yep. It's this guy. This guy right here.
Welcome to Remedium.

We've talked about Glacier. We've talked about Pie. Now it's Foam's turn.
@seafoampuddings / @seafoamwaffle
Everyone... the. every other week remedium update post except i had no idea what to do so i just complained about it and make a shitpost out of what i do have.
why am i doing this you ask? i dont know. i dont have a life.
Welp. The main main mechanics of the overworld of remedium have basically been complete. There's only very basic UI left for me to do and a lot of Legundo watching while arting to do. Hey, maybe we'll finally get some more Rem art dumps in the future!
But yeah. I've got. I've got no witty thing to show off. It's just. its foam. emotional support foam. yeah. whatever. hate that gal

Aaaaaand there it is. The long awaited update. Or whatever it is that they call it.
In my very first post on this account about Remedium, I said that I would have a demo ready within two months of posting that post. And you may be wondering, is that still true? We are two months into this, now! Andddddd....
Well. Truth is, I think I was okay at identifying a timeline for what I was planning at the time. But ever since I started Remedium, this project has only grown, and I've managed to get feedback from people. Which explains why the demo will be delayed.
Why is that? Well. I actually just got bigger and better plans for the demo! While I originally only wanted the Player to explore overworld mechanics, I decided to add a little more.
A demo is supposed to be some sort of trailer for the game. And I want to make the best trailer for you all.
In the meanwhile, I want to remind you that my asks are open! Ideas are always welcome, yapping is even more. Support is what motivates me every day.
I wish I could show you all that I've been doing. But alas, I must keep some secrets...
For now, have this.
wh... what do you mean "This isn't enough?" I've given you a screenshot of one!!! (1)!!! One whole map, now! Out of the like, 14 total in the game! (i did not actually count them. before posting this.) Don't be so greedy! I'm sorry if the cursor hides most of it, and i guess im sorry its a bit pixelated, but what more do you want from pixel art? Truly, do you not know how to appreciate art?
Sillies and low quality screenshots aside... Remedium will come in time. And I hope you will all love it as much as I do. (Actually, maybe more, because i do hate it at times. Coding sucks.)

(also, who was gonna tell me I've been mispelling "indie" as "india" this whole time???? WHO???)
What a surprise! Remedium, being a video game, actually does need a decent amount of coding that I have not only been procrastinating to do and learn, but also to… organize?
Since when was there a need for multiple scripts of coding? And what the heck are scenes? Frankly, all I’ve learnt from coding with Remedium is absolute gibberish. Why won’t things manifest as I think them into existence? It’s a scam is what it is.
But oh well. You do what you got to do. I’m currently coding in how to save the game in itself (because you have to code that too! All by yourself!), all the while procrastinating organizing all the files of the game.
To facilitate complaining to the void about this issue, I have drawn a more visual aspect of my problem, that should speak more to you.
Listen! You import assets all by themselves, which is why they're neat and tidy, bar except for a few names — and when I create scenes, I automatically put them in the scene folder all by itself. And I used to go through the trouble of organizing scripts when I started them… but when you start one attached to a scene, and youre just too lazy to move it right as you create it because you want to play silly block man game…
Well. You end up with… a quite odd type of chest monster. In fact, it’s not a chest monster at all. It’s a file monster! My worse nightmare.

Now, you may be asking, "Teri, where the FUCK have you been?" and to that I say... pollen is a bitch
but everything is okay, because I am, as you know, the maker of this very awesome indie fan video game based on the best doctor there ever was, Legundo. And while I have been absolutely dying, i have also been arting!... too much. Way too much.
Yes. That is 9 hours of arting if you count all the concepts outside of this. I have. I have arted too much. But it was all worth it, because it means I now have assets I can actually feel comfortable adding to Remedium!
What? these are actually named and organized... huh... does this give you a clue... huh... of what... huh.... i have made.... huh.... oh well too bad i guess.
(I am currently ignoring the fact I do, very much, still need about 8-10 more pieces of art to make for this. It is too much work. Legundo isn't streaming nearly enough for me to lurk and art as he does. and even when he streams! I keep! getting attacked! by IRON BRICKS! Legundo when i get you...)

Alright, now. We all know my wonderful team consisting of myself, Wonderful Glacier, Musical-Genuis Cat and Emotional Support Foam, all mentioned in the grand Masterpost that explains everything, and their roles are appropriately described.
But when it comes to Pie, you may be left wondering as to how, exactly, they are considered an assistant without ever having touched the game... and, well, i feel like these images summarize their role perfectly.
All these do not even include the enormous amount of DMs we've shared complaining and helping each other when it comes to coding, and our extensive list of shared tutorials, due to the fact that they are the one coding @project-lumen .
Well... Thank you, Pie, for making this possible! andlettingmebotheryouateveryothererror---

This will not be the sole post called the sillies. there are many. Many sillies involved in the making of Remedium.
one of them includes putting my musician down to red on the creative life event heyyyyy heyyy skye heyyyy---
I've been slowly getting myself back on the coding scene, as starting super secret thing has been a huge step in the developpement of Remedium, HOWEVER! it has gone well. And I can actually imagine a world where I finish the main mechanics within the end of the week!
The visuals, on the otherhand... well. we're not talking about those, now, are we?
Aaaaaaanyway. As I said! The sillies! The work! The coding!
If you know anything about coding, you know about prints. You know.
...however. The Sillies. This is, in no way, efficient. This is something that would make any other coder cry. However, lucky me, I am the sole coder of Remedium, meaning I only need to know what im doing, and make absolutely no sense. If I ever forget what any of these do, it is solely my fault and only I will suffer the consequences for it.
and. well. i already do. sigh
emotional support foam, everyone. Sigh. Big sigh.
(I am so, so very excited to get Remedium to a place where I can release a demo. This is so exciting. It's actually starting to look like something. I am. So excited)
