A visit to Center Cemetery on a pleasant day in March. There are stunning examples of 18th century folk funerary art on the gravestones here. I love both of the carvers shown here as well as this burial ground and the town of Salem for that matter I've been coming here for years. But this is one of the most extraordinary old burial grounds to visit if you're interested in beautiful old gravestones. And such haunting soul effigies. Yes- you should always remember death.
