There is absolutely no way the "MARIO GETS HIGH FROM MUSHROOMS HURR HURR HURR" joke is gonna actually be in the Movie, Nintendo and Miyamoto are too deeply involved to let that slide for what will be a PG family friendly romp. Now *Donkey Kong* potentially ingesting Hallucinogenic plants in a get-crap-past-the-radar way? That's definitely plausible.

I don't know, we've been seeing quite a few cases of 'creator/original staff involved with a new version of an IP... Said new version still ends up fucky-wucky in some way'.

Though I am glad that we both acknowledge that any form of shenanigans related to this would probably be because of Seth Rogen-Donkey Kong

Regarding the Seth Rogan / mario Mushrooms joke I am 90% sure it will go like this. Mario will get the mushroom and 1 UP. Kong will do the same thing, but instead of a one up, he gets high af.

I'm going to make sure to tag this ask with something so, when reviews for the Mario movie start popping up and this joke inevitably is one of the things people rag on, I will be able to bring this ask up as the masterclass of predicting bad film-writing.
