Remember when they made Keesha white in the recast and just didn't say nothing about it whatsoever???

And did you know that the white actress said that the audience "PRESUMED" that Keesha (KEESHA), who was involved with one of the Black men on the show at the time and nobody mentioned anything about race in the storyline - she said we presumed Keesha was a WOC.

Yeah, Girl. Why would we presume that a character named Keesha with a storyline involving all the Black characters on the show was NOT a WOC, and why would a soap opera not mention it, if it were so. Did you WATCH a soap opera? If she was supposed to be white from the start and it never once factored into that early 90s brand of interracial relationships in soaps, we of course presumed this was a light skinned Black woman or a biracial with Black woman. Then came you, and we were fucking confused. Because I wasn't old enough to comprehend that they could just make somebody white if they felt like it. Lol

Anyways. I kept misremembering this character's name, thinking it was Camille or Simone, talmbout, "It was a Black name, something Black..." whole time her name was Keesha and that's probably why whenever I would bring this up, people wouldn't know wtf I was talking about and I had to give a roadmap of her short lil' storyline.

She had an affair, got AIDS and died. Ain't that some shit? Lol. Anyways. White Keesha was the one who died, btw. Previous Keesha had went on to go do something else, but she was the one who was fuckin Olivia husband.

I have been preparing a queue for National Soap Opera Day, so soaps been heavy on my mind, despite not having actively watched any for many years... But I do randomly think about random wild shit that was on TV just in the daytime. Young and the Restless used to come on at 11am. Why am I a small child at 11 am watching niggas fuckin around and gettin AIDS and shit with women in my life? Lmao

the biggest discussion was if it’d be laurel or felicity that slade would pick to lure oliver in to their final fight

we were all losing it because of oliver and felicity holding hands before he walked away, lingering the contact between them and the same applies to oliver insisting to carry felicity bridal style even if he was hurt

no seriously, we were losing it after 2x21 and all the platonic touch

lol the neverending discussion about the ‘thing in the finale that would make some olicity fans happy and others angry’ and almost everyone agreed it’d be a kiss, aside a few people that bet on ‘i love you’ (that a lot of people made fun of - me included - but the joke was on all of us)

we were really concerned about oliver’s understanding of his love for felicity - like it’d take him at least another season to understand how much he cared for her and how honestly in love he was ahahaha joke on us again 

everyone pissed about the ‘i love you’ “ruse”

and then later i was discussing their first time and how oliver should kiss her shoulder (x)

Remember when…?

I have waaaay too many likes. I don't even know why I like posts. To save them for later?

Anyway! I don't want to get rid of them, so I'll be reblogging some old, irrelevant stuff under the tag "remember when…?". So far it's mostly TGP2, but that's cool, right?

These'll probably show up on the weekends. We're at 4,097 liked posts right now.

Remember when we all did the 30 Day Josh Groban challenge earlier in the year and I wrote that hideously wordy list for 10 Reasons You Love Josh...?

Well I was getting all nostalgic for my old J-Gro posts and found it!

Dude is funny. Seriously. When he was a guest on Buzzcocks, I hurt myself laughing. He gets our British, dry, sarcastic, oftentimes left-of-field humour, too. He doesn't take himself at all seriously and that's incredibly attractive.

He's sickeningly talented. He sings. He plays the piano and the drums. He writes. He acts. He juggles. What can't he do (apart from cook)?

He's incredibly humble. He's sold well over 25 million albums worldwide and yet he doesn't take any of it for granted. He loves and respects his fans for what they do and where they've put him. He's completely grounded and normal for someone who has had the amount of success he has. It makes you want to be best friends with him.

Heart of gold. He just seems incredibly kind and generous and giving. He genuinely seems to give a shit about the world and the people in it and actively wants to make things better.

His passion for the arts. He's fought hard for arts education in America for projects to get the funding they so badly deserve, even setting up his own  foundation. He knows first hand how valuable creative processes - whether they be music, acting or art - can be to young people and communities. I wish someone would do that here.

DIRTY. There have been so many hints in interviews and from TV appearances and the Q+As from the STYT that would suggest he's got a filthy-dirty sense of humour and not as innocent as you might've first thought. I love a pervy mind. It makes life much more fun!

White and nerdy. (If you haven't seen the Weird Al video, that reference won't make a lot of sense to you). He stays up late playing video games, hula-hooping, bowling on a tourbus, tweeting random shit. The guy is a complete and utter idiot but in the best possible way. He's goofy and adorable.

Sweeney. Ladies, let's be honest here. Part of the reason we love Josh is his beloved hound. The love he has for that dog (and all animals, really. Remember Derek?) is so adorable and if it doesn't melt your heart a little when he talks about him, re-evalute.

He's a little bit hipster. While it's easy to connote this simply to the checked shirts and glasses and jeans and stubbly beard, I think it's his taste in music, film and TV that makes him a lot 'cooler' than a lot of people think he might be because they judge him on the music he makes. While we love it I know a lot of people keep more of a closed mind.

Sexy as hell. It's the heady mix of all of the above and his gorgeous dark eyes and beautiful face that make him so attractive, I think. I remember thinking he was cute and charismatic to begin with, then when you find out more about him and see him do things, you fall for him. It's almost confusing, because there are times you want to hug him, times you wouldn't mind going out for a drink with him and times when you'd want to "stay in", as it were. He's kind of perfect.
