The Doctor whirled around, his legs catching behind each other and nearly tripping over himself. Per usual. His eyebrows furrowed, however, as he realised he was not alone anymore. "Oh... Hello!"

     It was nearly midnight when a man staggered out of an alley, blood trickling down the side of his head from where he had been struck. It must have been a thug--weren't they always when they weren't trying to kill him? He chuckled to himself. Well, at least whoever tried to clock him didn't earn much for his troubles--Mr A knew better than to keep a desirable sum on his person, at this hour.

     Damn. He wasn't sure if he should be grateful or not for being a doctor because he knew the effects of a concussion, and one of them involved losing consciousness which, by experience, he knew was going to happen within seconds. He shook his hair out of his eyes and focused on the bright yellow haze ahead of him. Light. Laughter. A pub. People. He needed help. He needed to reach that light. He gritted his teeth and practically threw himself on the pavement before the world went completely black.
