I've been writing a fic of my own and it got me thinking. Why haven't I seen anyone write Freddy being just, stupid good at Fazer Blast. It's his attraction I wanna see him absolutely destroy everyone else in a match.

He absolutely deserves to be a champion Fazer Blast player! It's 1 v everyone else, and he still destroys them!

I think the funniest way this could be introduced is if even Freddy himself is surprised by how good he is. Like, he's never played a round before Gregory and Vanessa started hanging out each night, and he goes into his first game apologizing to his teammates at how he's new at this. And then he just demolishes the competition and it's surprised pikachu faces all around.

the Nobodies Are Bigger theory is predicated on two things: one, that there’s some inconsistency between the heights of nobodies and their somebodies (most notably braig seems to be closer in height to the other apprentices than xigbar is to their nobodies) and two, that all the nobodies are really fucking tall.

(from a character/game design perspective, the nobodies are all tall bc they’re boss enemies in a 3rd person action game and they need to be large relative to the protagonist for the game to not be mechanically frustrating. but that’s not what we’re talking about today.)

the theory’s explanation for these things is essentially that as partially-nonexistent beings held together by the force of their own willpower, nobodies’ physical appearances are significantly influenced by their own self-image. whether this means they will look somewhat different immediately after losing their hearts and then remain that way or that their forms will change if their self-perception does is not critical. given that they are all (at least outwardly) self-confident, this manifests in them becoming physically larger than their “true” forms to various degrees. it also can be used as a blanket explanation for things that are kind of weird and inconsistent about their nobody forms, like xaldin’s pointed ears (xaldin elfkin confirmed??) and that only some of them appear to age at all. the fact that some of these physical changes carry on to their recompleted selves is... well, it’s another character design choice to allow the audience to easily identify who the characters are, but something something when they recomplete their appearance is based on a combination of their nobody’s self-perception and their heart’s understanding of themselves so they may be restored completely to their original appearance or retain their nobody appearance depending on something something
