Biographical and educational history Remi Surutu is a native of Ondo State born on 14 of may. She grew up in a well to do family she lived a luxury life as a child and she grew up being chauffeur-driven to school. Remi Surutu is highly educated and the best education she received has made her the woman that she is today. Acting career She started her acting career professionally in 1985 when she went for an audition in NTA. Her acting career kick off with the classic TV series, "Village Headmaster" and "Sparks." She came into limelight after featuring in the movie by Afolabi Ogunjobi titled, "Surutu" with her role as the titular character which later became her stagename till date. Remi Surutu has since featured in several Nollywood movies too numerous to mention. She is the CEO of Everbluee Music Studio. In 2016, the actress ventured into the music business and opened a music studio in Ikeja, Lagos State. Her first paycheck as an actress was 35 naira for her role in the movie "Sparks." She earned 75 naira for her role in "Village Headmaster." The actress took a break from acting to work as a mortician. Before she returned to the Nigerian film industry, the actress worked for the popular funeral service company, Ebony Caskets. One unique things about the actress career is her longevity and continued relevance.
Family and personal life Much is not know about Remi Surutu personal life most especially her marriage life. On Saturday, July 1, 2017, Remi Oshodi Surutu lost her daughter, Ayomikun, to the sickle cell anemia disease.
Philanthropy work She however, revealed that she intends to immortalise her daughter very soon. “I plan to immortalise my daughter by establishing a foundation in her honour. This is because she was always willing to impact people’s lives. I never knew I was going to lose my daughter, but she was encouraging me to go ahead to start helping people. “Despite being hospitalised at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, my daughter insisted that I offset other patients’ medical bills. So many doctors can attest to the fact that I was paying other patients bills. I bought drugs for countless patients and I also paid for dialysis treatment for so many patients. Some were discharged and couldn’t pay their bills and I paid for them.” She also called on well-meaning Nigerians to always lend a helping hand to the needy. The actress also revealed that growing up she had the best of everything. This, she said, has made her develop a soft spot for those who cannot afford the basic necessities of life. “I lived a luxury life as a child and I feel for those who could not afford it, so I support them in my own way.
