Week 2
In week 2, we learned about remixologies. I had done some readings about copyright last year, but I think it’s good to refresh my memory and also get a better understanding of it.
We had looked at a few case study in class. Also talked about how people create something new from other people’s works, and when is it fine to use it.
What I loved the most was learning to make gif in class, I really enjoyed it. Whenever I saw gifs on the Internet, I would always wonder how they're made. But now I know how to create my own gif :)

new visual form to present on the interial design.
nice look.
Any elements, no matter where they are taken from, can serve in making new combinations. The discoveries of modern poetry regarding the analogical structure of images demonstrate that when two objects are brought together, no matter how far apart their original contexts may be, a relationship is always formed

Second attempt at making a GIF - had a pretty crappy week so I decided to create something that was excessively upbeat and ridiculous :)
Australian artist Jane Long transforms cracked and faded black and white photographs into colorful works of fantasy, giving the subjects a new, and entirely surreal context. The images she uses for her series, Dancing with Costica, were captured over a half century ago by Costică Acsinte a Roman
I found this article on art and design blog, Colossal, and thought that it was really relevant to Friday’s lesson on remixologies.
The artist uses black and white World War I - era photographs, then digitally restores and alters them to create brand new images. I really love the result of the manipulations and you can definitely see that a lot of hard work and effort has been put into creating the new works. I feel that this certainly supports Andy’s statement that appropriating another persons’ work does not necessarily mean that it is being vandalised, more often than not, appropriation is an act of love and respect for the original artist and their work.
Week 2: Remixologies
In this workshop, we learnt remixologies, it means to mixing 2 or more than 2 existing images or stuffs together and remake them to become a new look. The new image usually present a different meaning with the originals. We also learnt to use Photoshop to create an animated GIF, this is really a challenge to me. Although I was use Photoshop to make the images about the color and facial image processing, I have never make an animated GIF. I was not satisfied with the rainbow cake project in the workshop, so I made another GIF after the class. I have searched on google about the process of making animated GIF, and finally I have made one, it is not very professional, but it is my first work. I am really happy about that. However, I have downloaded this software and try to solve problems as soon as possible!
