Mario updated his Twitter ^^ He retweeted the announcement of him appearing as a guest together with Kawaei Rina in the first episode of an original Hulu side story of the drama "Remote love ~ Futsuu no koi ha jadou ~" and wrote:
"I'll make an appearance in the role of Shuuto! I'll be a host I'll leave myself in your care."
The details of the side story are: - title: Rennai shinkaron - date of the episode's delivery: November 4 at 23:00 Japanese time - broadcasting site: Hulu Note: Hulu is a paying broadcasting channel. jdrama autumn 2020 (oct #2)
24 Japan Stars: Karasawa Toshiaki, Nakama Yukie I haven't actually watched the original series, although I've heard great things about it. Reading the Wikipedia summaries, it looks like the first episode follows the American version closely at least in terms of plot. I think with most of these adaptations, the plot and sometimes even the camerawork and editing work is generally fairly faithful to the original. So what separates good from queasy is the actors, and a whole host of veterans fill out the cast. Inexplicably, this clearly well-invested series has been relegated to the graveyard timeslot at 11:15PM and the first episode rated a disappointing 7.7%. #RemoLove Stars: Haru On the one hand, it's nice to see a drama handle COVID straight on, and in a way it's an informative series about how Japanese workplaces are dealing with the intrusion of social distancing. There's a lot of cute little jokes that are very much inside medical, like the psychiatrist joking "we'll have a bit of a break now while you guys busy, but I'm sure we'll get busier later on". There are moments that you know are trying to be educational about how to safely remove a mask or correct handwashing. There are also moments that could have been more closer to reality. Certainly in April, at least, I'd say most people working in healthcare would be busy keeping eye on COVID numbers and research. She also doesn't have the pathological compulsion to wash her hands after touching every surface. Here, at least, removing your mask to talk then popping them back on is a big no-no because you've broken the field. This is even before moving onto the actual story, which is supposedly a love story. Haru seems to enjoy picking these slow bland romcoms, but to be honest, I've never really liked her much in romcoms. She's got quite an aloof air about her and I preferred her more in that one police drama she was in, rather than these awkward romances. Personally, I never enjoy romances where I don't know who they will ultimately end up with. I know a lot of other people prefer it the other way around, and this would be perfect for them, as it is not at all clear who her partner is or where this story is going. That said, while it's cute and an easy watch, there's nothing about this series that engages me to keep watching, so this will be a drop.
Monday mood
CURRENTLY WATCHING: December.
I feel like I’ve watched so many good dramas during the month of November. 2020 had a number of excellent dramas! It’s been fun catching up and binge-ing all the dramas!
KOREAN.
+ Start-Up (2020)(14/16) ~ Airing. ★★★★☆
Still hopelessly rooting for Han Ji Pyeong here. Yes, I know it’s in vain … but still. It pains me that there is a lot of opportunity left on the table here especially when it comes to the business story line, the relationship between the sisters, and Nam Do San’s character actual growth.
This drama has really drawn out my appreciation of watching airing dramas again. It’s fun to hear all the opinions and banter week over week.
+ Tale of the Nine Tailed (2020)(14/16) ~ Airing. ★★☆☆☆
Looking forward to the last week of episodes so I can be finished with this drama. This drama had so much promise in the beginning and now, I find it soooo boring. Still grateful that it got me back into Korean dramas again!
+ 365: Repeat the Year (2020)(2/24) ★★★☆☆
This is an interesting concept and am intrigued by the shorter number of episodes. Hoping for a fast paced, concise story.
JAPANESE.
+ #RemoLove: Futsuu no Koi wa Jado (2020)(6/8) ~ Airing. ★★★☆☆
Wonder where they will take this drama from here. I’ve never been very impressed with Haru’s acting. I think I need to take this as a note.
+ 30 sai made Dotei dato Mahotsukai ni Narerurashii (2020)(1/12) ★★★★☆
Just started this one. The pilot is soooo cute, and I love the 30 minute episode length so much. Looking forward to continuing this one.
