Shepard Asks: Dark nebula and dwarf star for any/all your Shepards. Please?

Knox first: 

Dark nebula - Is there something they’d change about their past?

~~ No. If things had been different, Knox wouldn’t be the soldier he is today. He has no illusions as to what he is for the Alliance - a means to an end, a weapon of war - he’s okay with his life as it is. How can you miss something you’ve never had? Life is living one mission to the next. 

Dwarf star - When was your Shepard’s first kiss?

~~ He was 11. Some of the older boys in the Reds dared another boy to kiss him. The other boy was shy, afraid and embarrassed. Knox was already well on his way to learning to just do things and get them done. He allowed the boy to do it just so they both wouldn’t get in trouble. It wasn’t special or earth shattering in any way. It was then he decided sex, romance…everything that went with it was just another function - like taking a shower or brushing your hair.

~~ He never knew his father. His mother mentioned he was in the Alliance but she never told him who. John isn’t sure how it would change the man he is today but he would at least have liked the chance to have met and gotten to know him. Unless he was an ass, in which case he would have probably punched him on behalf of his mother!

Dwarf star - When was your Shepard’s first kiss?

~~ When he was sixteen. There was this cute boy he liked on a ship he and his mom were stationed on who was painfully shy but always checking John out. So, one day John took the initiative, caught the boy unawares and kissed him on the mouth. The boy stared at him with wide eyes and ran off, flustered but looked back right before he ran around a corner and smiled. What the boy - and no one else knows - was that John surfed the extranet for tips on how to kiss. He found a video that explained how to put two fists together and use the thumbs as another pair of lips lol He practiced for hours on end - until the doors to the cabin whooshed open and his mom almost caught him xD

Sol System - What is your Shepard’s class, background, military history?

~~ Vanguard - His DI told him ‘Fools rush in where angels fear to tread.’ Know doesn’t consider himself a fool but more the only one willing to pay the ultimate cost if needed. 

Earthborn - He figures he was born somewhere in or around Toronto as it’s where he grew up. He was in the Reds and he learned their rules quickly.

Ruthless - Knox will do whatever it takes to accomplish a mission - no matter the cost.

Stardust - What kind of clothes do they usually wear off-duty? (sporty, elegant or specific clothes like sweatpants, jeans etc)

~~ Knox doesn’t consider himself ever ‘off-duty’ as even on shore leave he’s always taking care of something having to do with the last mission (reports), upcoming mission (getting more information, following leads) or taking care of Spectre business. So, he’s always in his BDUs. He doesn’t even own any civvies. 

As for downtime after missions, it’s well known amongst the crew not to come to his cabin to talk unless they contact him first. Knox likes to relax...freely...when alone ;)

Nebula - Who is your Shepard’s best friend?

~~ The only friend he ever had was a younger boy while they were both in the Reds. He was twelve and the boy was seven. Shepard taught him to read and they would go up to the roof of the building they lived in and Shepard would listen while the other’s boy imagination ran wild, thinking of what their life could be like if circumstances were different. Shepard never talked about himself, content to listen to the younger boy, taking care of him, keeping him safe, teaching him how to look out for himself. 

Moon - Did your Shepard have any dreams as a child? (dream job, plans for future etc)

~~ Even as young as three, there were times he looked up at the stars and wished he could fly. He’s not a romantic in any way and doesn’t believe the silly concept of dreams coming true. To him, everything he has is the product of hard work, determination and the will to succeed - no matter the cost.

Meteor - Does your Shepard have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?

~~ He takes a very deep breath when extremely angry so as not to lose his cool - not an easy feat when dealing with idiots on a day to day basis but he prides himself on absolute, rigid control regardless of the circumstances. In battle is the only time he unleashes his fierce and legendary temper. Knox is very driven, single minded and determined when accomplishing something. Don’t stand in his way!
