Hello! I have a character profile that generated a few lore questions too.
I’m toying with the idea of a third possibly boy to the prophecy. The boy, let’s call him Dylan, would be the son of a traditional pureblood wizard, about 60 y old, and Azenora, a morgen. Their relationship wasn’t one of love, but moved more by lust, curiosity and self-interest, with some affection and respect. Part of the family didn’t react well to the announcement of the pregnancy, specially a son that was a Death Eater and some of the older generation. Dylan was hidden with his grandmother’s cousins in France during the war and later was raised by his loving grandparents, with frequent visits to the French cousins and to his mother’s family.
Dylan loves to learn and to work with his magic in creative ways, exploring branches of magic that aren’t taught at Hogwarts. His mother believed that knowledge was essential to a healthier and longer life and passed his belief to him.
He is a tall, handsome, powerful and intelligent wizard. He knows this, so is very prideful and self-confident, which frequently translate in a condescending attitude to most of people. Rarely does he find someone that he considers as his equal and when this happens, he feels very happy about it. Those people would be hold both in high regard and high standards – the same standards that he holds himself to.
Normally amiable and sociable, he doesn’t care very much to other people opinions, except for the ones that he considers as equals. If someone tries to offend him because of his origins, he could only pity the person, so deficient in judgment to not see that if the result was someone as awesome as him, being a half-breed should a term of praise, not a derogatory one.
He has very chivalrous tendencies, believing to be his responsibility to protect the weaker ones and he will need to learn to control this to not act like an overprotecting mother hen. If someone is mean to some of his ‘protégées’, he first tries to educate the person with talk, if this is inutile, he would use another type of punishments, normally with a little pain and/or humiliation. If the offender doesn’t learn his lesson in a handful of tries, he starts to exert his crueller side.
His mother naturally would donate a hair to his wand. Given his family situation, very British, but with strong ties in France, would they take the hair to Ollivander or would prefer to use a French wandmaker? If Azenora give Dylan a tear, it could be used in the wand? If it can, which kind of enchantment could be imbued in it? Could her participate of the creation of the wand, singing enchantments in it as it was being made?
As awesome as a morgen’s hair would be as a core, could you also suggest an alternative core that could be provided by Dylan’s sea connections?
So I’m seeing more than the standard three questions here, so I’m not going to do a full wand suggestion here because you’ve asked beyond the allotted limit (three! the limit is three things!). I’ll answer the actual questions you’ve given, but no more.
1. Given his family situation, very British, but with strong ties in France, would they take the hair to Ollivander or would prefer to use a French wandmaker?
If his mother donates any part of the wand (hair or anything else) then they’d want to go to someone other than Ollivander - be they in Britain or in France, or perhaps the Hogsmeade Ollivander, who seems more open to alternative materials.
2. If Azenora give Dylan a tear, it could be used in the wand? If it can, which kind of enchantment could be imbued in it?
I assume you mean a Mermaid’s Tear by this? Yes, it could, embedded in the handle, and I would suggest an enchantment to make it able to cast reliably underwater.
3. Could her participate of the creation of the wand, singing enchantments in it as it was being made?
Theoretically, yes, if the wandmaker was willing to make it somewhere near where she was, or in her presence.
4. As awesome as a morgen’s hair would be as a core, could you also suggest an alternative core that could be provided by Dylan’s sea connections?
Morgen Hair would be the best bet.
