Renchin!: Everyone deserves to have a happy ending. It broke our hearts when we found out on a one shot that his own happiness would not be granted but on his own story we realized that was not the case, even though he was not certain if he would still acknowledge what he felt for another love interest he faced it and got his own happy ending with someone who would truly love him unconditionally.

Kami has a horrible habit of making more than he can eat for lunch. It’s even harder since he no longer has someone to share it with. One night, as he was heating up his leftovers, his home is suddenly invaded by the bright and cheerful TV Announcer Waki. Waki host a food segment on the local news, visiting people’s homes to see what’s for dinner. Despite eating tons of delicious food, the truth is that he has almost no pallet. Even when he couldn’t taste anything, he felt something wonderful when he ate Kami’s food. A feeling that leads to Kami sharing his lunch with the over enthusiastic reporter off camera.

This one is a wonderful story with a ton of emotional moments. Though I’m sure that food bill is through the roof, you can feel the endearing love these two have for each other. The writing is incredible and had me hooked the entire story. The bedroom scenes are a bit abrupt, but still pretty good. Though I enjoyed this title, the fact that I actually LIKE the third act break up makes me feel like a hypocrite. It’s well written and the resolve is extremely romantic, but it’s still my least favorite plot device. I’m also not a huge fan of most of the side characters. Outside of Kami’s mom (she is an angel), they don’t get better till Volume 2. Volume 2 is also fun and sweet, though a bit back and forth at times, same can be said about the bonus chapters.

I still recommend you give this a chance, just try not to get too hungry while reading.

338. Renchin!, Vol. 2 - unlicensed - After a heartfelt confession on air by Waki, he and Kami are now happily living together as boyfriends, but rumors about Waki and his beautiful co-star keep Kami on edge. Really enjoyable series. Loved their mothers, and Kami's construction work crew grew on me.
