book blurb:

Painters are a rare order of sorcerers that have the powers to paint anything into life. It is thanks to this ancient order that the world of Shannon has beautiful constellations in skies, spring blooms to life in a night and love happens in all forms and shapes. Myths claim that before the first Painter, the world was dull and ravaged by war and jealousy.

Shannon dreams of becoming a Painter. She knows she’s got the basic skills (well, according to everything she’s read on Painters. And she’s read everything): she’s a dreamer, creative, has read all kinds of stories, and most importantly, she has magic in her blood. Certainly, it’s barely enough to light a candle, but it’s there.

And she wants to nurture it.

Her problem?

No one has seen or heard of Painters in five hundred years. There’s no one to teach her. 

But that won’t stop her. Shannon fully intends on travelling to the Painter’s land and abandoned academy and teach herself. No matter what.
