(Hi, Dot!) Yes, I think it was definitely here in Washington as early as December. One of our family friends' oldest daughter was SO sick with thei weird thing--she was in the hospital for a month--and no one knew what it was. Others in that family were also sick, with what we now think of as Covid-19 symptoms. It was here early, for sure.
*waves back*
It’s possible, certainly. It’s quite contagious and we live in a world where we are 8-12 hours at the most from any source of a new virus that can create a pandemic - unless we stop travelling by air.
I’ve done a bit of calculation on when the disease must have started to spread, and I think it was up and running in October some time. The first case we know of today was apparently discovered by mid-November, which probably wasn’t the actual first case. By January and the lock down of Wuhan, it was too late. It’d had plenty of time to spread around the world by then, and it did.
@reneausten, don’t go AWOL on me! (I need your email address.)

THE WHOLE IDEA IS VERY AMUSING YOU KNOW IT IS
I’ll never learn to shut my trap. Somehow I always manage to manoeuvre myself into situations like these.
PS. You could be the one who gets the honour of being my beta, you know. I’m all for spreading the pain. *cackle*

LAUGHING
OF COURSE YOU ARE.
BLOODY HELL.
I must confess that the idea of me writing slashy E-rated football RPF’s is a bit disturbing. It’s not my cup of tea, you know. At least not the E-rated part.

Have a lovely lovely trip! We just got back from our annual trek–it’s always great to get away! :)
Welcome home and good to see you around! Where did you go this year?

It's beautiful!
I think so too. My plan is to put it up in a corner where I’m hiding the big tabletop we’re using for sit down dinners of the fancier kind in plain sight. I’ve had several ideas, but I think it’s better to mask the table top rather than bring it out. I’ll put some plants there with plant light so it’s not an empty corner.
