What did you think of Jaslene as the winner of cycle 8? Also, what did you think of Natasha being the runner up or of her bizarre personality for that matter. People think she is so sweet and funny and I have no proof to say otherwise but I do feel like there is something disingenuous there.
I supported Jaslene when I watched the cycle, but the flaws in her personality have become clearer over time. She did seem a bit full of herself, but nothing that stopped me from believing she 100% deserved to win. She had such a strong portfolio, a great walk, and earned it in the end.
Natasha being the winner is more questionable. I’d have put Renee in the final over her, as I just think Renee was as strong throughout, and was definitely the best in the last week. I loved her personality though. I get what you mean about being slightly disingenuous. I think the relationship part of the competition was hard, and she ended up putting up a front throughout the show. Still, I think she was a sweet girl, who just wanted to say what was right.
#7 – Cycle 8’s Men’s and Women’s Magazine Shoot
The duality of this photoshoot was an inspiration, allowing the models totest their abilities in a truly unique way. The models actually had to think about their body language, and distinguish between each of the poses. Some of the shots produced are truly spectacular, I mean looking at Renee’s portfolio from the shoot it is fascinating to see the minor differences between each of the photos that amplify either the sexuality or the sensuality. All but 1 shot from the week was fantastic, and for everyone but Jaslene my favourite photo of theirs from the cycle was produced. I feel ideas like this, multiple photos from similar shoots to stress the need for the models to be able to model differently in different situations would be really interesting to have more often.

This is the only decent photo this week, and Renee overall would have been my pick for winner. Yet she was the one eliminated. I am so confused. This photo is gorgeous, Renee’s smile could light up a room, and her eyes are filled with life. I think this is a bit mature for Covergirl, but I kind of blame the short hair. Had she had long flowing hair then this photo could have been one of my favourite Covergirl photos of all time.

This was the only really good shot this week for me, and continues Renee’s streak. I love the softness of her pose, and the fact you can feel the fluidic movement from her arms. Her face also looks absolutely stunning in profile, and the legs are great as well. It all combines well, and produces the strongest shot this week by far.

Sometimes the hands annoy me, and sometimes they make the shot. That is the only detail that stops this being on top, as everything else is absolutely perfect. The arch in the back is so defined I love it, and the way she is staring at the model seems so real, and honest. I love the way the light is hitting her as well, makes the shot all about her. It is such a beautiful photo, and I kind of wish she hadn’t done the arms just so I could be sure it is perfect.

Another very pedestrian photo, and honestly a bit confusing. Her moment is probably the least iconic of the ones on this list, and this photo follows in being a bit of a let-down compared to the rest. Renee’s face is emotive, but I don’t think it is particularly fitting for a model. Also why is she clutching her ankle. I think this shot would have been better had she put her leg down and kept the knee raised, then arched her back a bit more. It is an annoyingly depressing shot from Renee given her previous work.

This set is split decisively for me, sexual and sorrow just are terrible. Sorrow looks like she has a headache, and sexual is just off putting. I wish she hadn’t put her hands up for that. Motherly is really friendly though, it is a commercial photo, but she looks relatable, and her smile is gorgeous. Dark side is okay, but I just wish there was a tiny bit more intensity in the eyes.
