the fairy king of the forests who coincidentally dislikes all forms of human contact
mild superiority complex and a small bit of a tsundere
knows that there are a lot of things to be learnt from human cultures but refuses to interact with them
probably holds a personal grudge against the entire humanity
previous forest he was residing in got destroyed by guns and bombs created by humans
harbours extreme distrust of others
but you’ve visited him accidentally a handful of times when you were younger
he basically watched you grow up as a second parent
so you’re the only human he tolerates
once, monsters tried to attack you when you got lost in the forest since you’ve never been in the forest at night
renjun heard from other fairies roaming around the area and he immediately flew to where you were
thank god the monster was slow so you were able to dodge pretty much every swing and every kick
but renjun knows your luck is running out purely from the way you were panting
without thinking twice he casted the strongest spell in his repertoire, one that would result in him losing half his lifespan
defeated the monster but collapsed with a high fever
you brought him back to his little cottage and searched for a cure as fairies and sickness were never words that intertwined
forest pixies gave you a small note
“have the king drink your tears, it is the only way”
you were obviously confused and slightly concerned but as someone who knows nothing about fairies, you could only trust the pixies
as weird as it sounds, you spoon-fed your own tears for renjun to drink
renjun woke up surprised you knew of this method and panicked
“did the pixies say anything weird?”
you were stunned, of course, the first thing he says was not thank you but a cryptic question?
“i think the whole drinking tears thing is weird enough, i hope there wasn’t anything else”
renjun lets out a sigh and you were left to wonder
before you could voice them out however, renjun shoved you out the door
just before renjun slammed the door close, he whispers. face red and heart hammering against his chest
“the way you saved me just now... should only be possible if we both loved each other.... romantically”
