Me, summarizing my DnD character’s characteristics: yeah so my guy is generally lawful neutral, as in, he follows the law to stay out of trouble but doesn’t care too much. He doesn’t particularly like to fight though

Also me, in the actual session: yeah so I’m going to hide behind the door and knock the guy out with my lute club. Either that or go for his kneecaps

I just realized my dnd character is essentially just Stede Bonnet if he was a halfling musician and figured out he was gay earlier

Some random facts about Rennam, my halfling bard character, because I want to infodump about him but some of these things likely will never come up in the campaign I’m playing him in, because it’s mostly made up of young-leaning teens (so if you’re a young-leaning teen, keep that in mind before reading) (if you want to see a sketch of him, it’s over here):

He embroidered most of his jacket! There’s some spaces lower down that are empty

There’s a seal on the back of his jacket which has the symbol of his town/family on it

I can’t decide anything about his gender or assigned gender, except for how he prefers to present. This is fine with me tbh

It’s not too obvious under all the layers and ruffles (which I forgot to include in that first sketch I posted), but he has boobs. As a treat

He doesn’t really hate wearing shoes, he just lives in a water town and likes to swim, so they’re usually inconvenient

He knows a bunch of curses from his background as both a translator and an entertainer, but doesn’t really use them except under his breath

He seems like he fits the “flirty bard” stereotype, but he’s a big ole aroace at heart and just likes the performance of it all

That being said, he does a damn good job at it as well

He doesn’t really care how people gender him, and mixes up what terms he uses for himself just based on which one fits the vibe best

Back home he has a large collection of bolo ties

If he were in a modern AU he would love glam rock
