Earl Grey: Does your OC like to read? What is their taste in books?

Amelia loves to read, it's one of her favorite things. Her tastes are all over the place: she'll go from Edward Said to Toni Morrison to Agatha Christie to Elie Wiesel. She makes sure to always have both a fiction and a nonfiction book on the go. She also often reads individual chapters of textbooks, when she's feeling curious about one thing or another. She has entire binders of notes that she keeps meaning to digitalize but never gets around to actually doing it.

Callie likes reading too, though she's not as obsessive about it as Amelia. She prefers nonfiction that will teach her something, like Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer and On Tyranny by Timothy Snyder.

oh man but this requires me to like. acknowledge someone I admire in a public way that they might notice.

I think I'm going to h/t to @anghraine who has long been a blogger whose writing and thought I greatly respect and admire - one of those bloggers where I don't share a whole lot of fandom ground, unusually for tumblrs I follow, but am so appreciative of their thoughts and opinions and the way they articulate both that I am glad I'm following.

okay okay let's see.

I am finally writing again, even if it is in things I feel vaguely guilty about writing. But the writing is happening! And some of it is still in projects I actually "should" be working on. And it's not like any of this is a job anyway, so probably I shouldn't feel guilty anyway.

The past few months I have been emotionally more stable and generally in a better place than I have been in a long time. Everything around me is awful but, at least most of the time, I'm handling it okay.

@ameliarating. this is kind of "good things going on in my life for the past ten years" but whatever. She's my wife, guys! I'm so lucky.

ok i'm not sure if this was supposed to be selfies or just any random picture, but i chose selfies bc why not. not much has super changed, and i don't remember what i was doing in jan of last year when i took that selfie, but the other one was taken today!
