~Minori’s Hand~
Yashiro is the young leader of Shinseikai and the president of the Shinseikai Enterprise, but like so many powerful men, he leads a double life as a deviant and a masochist. Chikara Doumeki comes to work as a bodyguard for him and, although Yashiro had decided that he would never lay a hand on his own men, he finds there's something about Doumeki that he can't resist. Yashiro makes advances toward Doumeki, but Doumeki has mysterious reasons for denying. Yashiro, who abuses his power just to abuse himself, and Doumeki, who faithfully obeys his every command, begin the tumultuous affair of two men with songs in their hearts and no wings to fly.
Twittering Birds Never Fly volume 1 is now available on Renta!
It’s the Juné edition. You can either rent the book for 48 hours for $3, or buy permanently for $6.
The books you purchase will be stored in a digital bookshelf linked to your account, so you can access them whenever you want (or for 48 hours if you chose the rental option). If you prefer to download them to your mobile or iPad you’ll need the Renta! App for iOS or Android.
Saezuru volume 2 and 3 are announced for October 23rd and November 6th respectively! I haven’t seen any info yet on what will happen afterwards, whether Renta plans to take over with their own translation at some point or if they’re going to wait for Juné to release the other volumes first. So let me know if you know more.
By the way, Doushitemo furetakunai is available as well, and I thought I also saw an announcement for Soredemo yasashii koi o suru the other day, but I can’t find it anymore.
~Seven Days~
hey, i was just curious about the new company that bought the rights to saezuru. does this mean we wont be able to read the translated chapters for free online? its fine if thats the case, because its only fair that we pay for sensei's work, but im just a little confused
Renta! is a digital publisher based in Japan that legally provides (digital) manga in English. Their system basically works like Lezhin or Kindle. You can either purchase your manga as a full volume (if available) or chapter by chapter, with the added option of only “renting” them for 48 hours for half the price if you only want to read them instead of permanently keeping them in your library.
The cost is about $ 2 per chapter (or $ 1 for rental). Full volumes are around 7 or 8 dollars, it seems.
You can either read your purchased manga online or download them onto the Renta! app which is available for iOS and Android. There is a step-by-step tutorial on the site I linked to above that explains how to use the app in detail. One thing users with Android devices should be aware of is that the app has been rated as “High maturity” by Google Play, so if you can’t find it, check your Google Play settings first.
So, yes, you would have to pay around 2 dollars every two months in order to read Saezuru. Sara from Renta! said on Twitter that they picked up the digital license from June, so they won’t retranslate the first 3 volumes which is somewhat unfortunate but also means that they should be able to catch up to the current chapters way quicker. Once they do, new chapters should come out pretty soon after the Japanese release. But as I said before, I haven’t used the English Renta! yet (there’s also a Japanese one which I do use sometimes), so this is all I can tell you at this point.
