Starting this Monday, August 17th, applications will open for LA County's COVID-19 Rent Relief program.  Applications will be open from August 17th to the 31st. Visit https://211la.org/lacounty/rentrelief to apply, or dial 2-1-1. When you apply, you will need to show some proof of tenancy, such as a rental agreement or a statement from the property owner. It’s not about boot straps when billion dollar corporations need bailouts within in one day of a global pandemic announcement. It’s about disrespect and the expendability of working class and economically impoverished communities. Quite simply: it’s injustice. Housing is a human right and it’s clear that our governments and the private developers and industries they cater to do not care about that (and many other) right(s). . . . . .
