Finally! Adventure day pictures. Part I.
The weather on Friday was - lets go with exciting :')
We arrived at our 1st destination Reposaari along side the thunder storm and let me tell you, driving into the island along a narrow bridge passage when the dark grey veil of rain rolled in from both sides was definitely a feeling-very-alive-right-now moment.
The thunder clouds did look awesome and I love the rays of light/rain that streak down from them.
In traditional Finnish summer fashion it was pouring rain simultaniously with sunshine. Somewhere out there were probably several rainbows, but we preferred to stay inside the dry comfiness of the car and enjoy our fresh from the roadside bakery munkki buns while admiring the view from the car windows. (Munkki is a type of Finnish baked good, similar to doughnut, though much better in my absolutely bias opinion. These ones were still warm so they were So Good.)
Of course the moment we left the island, the sun started shining again.
I love this time of the year when the fields start turning golden, the colours are so pretty! Alas they do not catch well on camera. (Especially from the car window.)
Our next stop was in Pori where we took advantage of the beautiful sunshine and walked along the church park and riverside with tiny dog, as the walkies in Reposaari island were very breaf due to icky wetness.
I feel like a large portion of my travel pics are always of churches, but it's simply due to the reason that those are usually some of the prettiest historical buildings in every town/village we visit and have place to park and place to walk with Thor. So you'll be seeing several more from this journey. :D This one is pretty new, only some 160~ years old. (In comparison, the other ones we visited were Medieval and from the 1700s.)
Tiny dog Thor and minibrothers got to explore the park since the weather was being kind to us. Minimond and Aeggy fell from So Many Trees until eventually we settled in taking pictures on the less hazardous log where they finally agreed to stay long enough for a photoshoot.
This is also where I got the butterfly photos from.

Thor in particular was in love with the old logs left in the park. (We assumed they were for both children to play with and bugs to inhabit as many Finnish cities have tried to make the city spaces more insect friendly by planting flowers for pollinators and leaving some old trees for bugs to munch on.)
Clearly the local dogs had also been buzy posting messages for Thor. Best stop of the day, says tiny dog!
