Well, it was an eventful couple of days, but everything went off without a hitch! My two interviews on KATU were a lot of fun, and I think I did pretty well given it was my first time on TV. Both Helen and Hannah were superb hosts, and both went out of their way to help me feel comfortable on the set! The AM Northwest segment is here, and the Afternoon Live is here--they're about five minutes each.
Yesterday's book signing for The Everyday Naturalist at Powell's was also a success--to include some audience members who showed up specifically because they saw me on KATU. I got some excellent questions after the talk, and it was a heady feeling getting to sit at the desk where I've seen other authors talk and sign books. And there was something amazing about walking outside Powell's and seeing my name on the marquee, after living here in Portland for almost two decades. First time, but hopefully not the last!
