the homunculus quickly leans forth, plucking the book from her grasp to avoid losing her ( much wanted ) attention. “ now, let’s see… ” they hum casually. slender fingers trace lazy loops all over the book’s cover before coasting its boldfaced title: slaughterhouse-five. it sounded violent. bloodthirsty. so very them, and yet, they’dnever EVER be caught dead reading ( or sitting still, for that matter ).
“ i suppose this beats that vampire crap you were reading yesterday, ” marks the start of their concession. casting the book aside, envy flops over onto their stomach, angling their head to better behold their companion. “ but i can’t possibly see how your nose can be stuck in a book for hooooours! tch, i’m getting sick just thinking of how boring that is! ” they perch theirchin atop a palm, lips jutting into a childish pout. “ i swear, spendingyour time with me is a better option…and don’t you dare deny it! ”
