If, like many people on the Deep Space Nine night shift, you feel lonely or bored when you go back to your quarters, one thing that can help is to construct a meal. Not an order of the same thing you’ve had for the past week; something new, something that combines multiple different items.
There are so many possible flavors and consistencies of each item that you’ll have to spend some time getting them to your taste. The puzzle of figuring out how to tell the replicator to make things just how you’ll like them is good for distracting yourself from stress.
And who knows? Maybe you’ll like your brilliant cubed cheese and smoked hasperat and warm reqilof with 1/3 cream combination or what-have-you so much, you’ll add another meal to your regulars.
