To the request about public transport and cuffs —
This is more of a replacement question than an issue with writing about cuffs, but have you seen this by any chance? And if you like it, shall I write with chained rings instead of cuffs? Just something I was reminded of and wanted you to consider.
Also, please clarify what you mean by the other having concern about the solution - Is it genuine concern because of the image of it? Is it humorous-concern about the ridiculousness of it? Or something else? I don't have a clear image of what emotions are being experienced.
Also, since nothing further has been specified, I default to a gender neutral couple.

To the request involving a knitted version of an interest —
I guess my only clarifying question would be this: how exactly do you see the knitted version of them? Do you just see it as a comforting inanimate object like one would with a person's hoodie with their scent, a gift from them, etc.? Or do you consider it as a version/something of them that you can 'actually hug' when you need it?
Because that is different and problematic territory. If you're just looking for a way to have a version of someone (fictional or not) that is without that boundary, then you can imagine why I won't write that. There is no 'escaping' someone's boundary. If you just think of it as an object without any aspect of their personhood relating to it, then I may reconsider the request.
