It’s become clear since the Masquerade ball that the Hunters who released the spell were not exaggerating in their intentions. The number of people who’ve been effected by the spell released that night is unclear but given the number of deceased thus far it is certain that the number is higher than anyone anticipated. Symptoms first begin resembling that of a cold, from there it escalates to magic becoming erratic before it begins depleting -- it is only then that Mungo’s ask that you come in. As your magic dwindles so does your ability to move for soon paralysis will take place before ultimately death. While St. Mungo’s has no cure they’ve assured The Prophet that they’ve means to make everyone comfortable in their final days.
