10 facts about Rereer and Klec!
I’m gonna just do 10 facts between them because I’m terrible. lol
-They’re from a small group of tribes that meet up every 3 years for mating ceremonies and rituals, before dispersing again back to their nomadic lives.
-Rereer fell in love with Klec when she saw him try to climb onto the back of a greattusk. The plan was to ride to the display ceremony and be the center of attention. Tttttthe greattusk had other plans and instead ran off in the opposite direction with a very distressed Klec.
-Rereer can play the lute and is actually quite good at it. She used to play it for Xasyn to help them sleep.
-Klec doesn’t have a very good singing voice, but he frequently serenades Rereer anyway. He writes all his own songs!
-The couple are actually pretty well known in the surrounding villages because of the unique style of cloak they wear, which I’d detail more if I drew them better. But the ‘closed cloaks’ are almost a free pass to get them into a lot of places that are otherwise closed to outsiders, because they’re always fair traders.
-During the worst part of the dry months, Klec brings them to an old family well that’s way out in the desert. The well started fairly shallow but is now hundreds of meters deep. Xasyn used to fit in the bucket to go down to dig, but now they’re too old so Rereer and them lower Klec down instead.
-Rereer is a very good spinner, and Klec is a very good weaver. Unfortunately Klec thinks he’s Very Creative and he often comes up with ‘new and improved’ ways to make bags, nets, and clothes. They end up with a lot of scrap fabric.
-Actually just in general Klec tries to ‘invent’ a lot of things. Some things have worked much better than others.
-Neither of them can cook to save their lives. They eat either raw or dried food and nothing in-between.
-Klec, despite having been a mate with Rereer for at least 8 years now, still does a mating display for her at the start of every wet season. He’s still determined to get a greattusk involved. It still hasn’t worked.
