Today's "Rescue Bots are Built Different" tidbit comes from the episode "Tip of the Iceburg."

When the Subzero-Expander explodes and freezes everything within a two-mile radius, we see the rescue bots trapped in the blast and flash-frozen in place. However, other than being cold and unable to move from the layer of ice over their bodies, they seem to be alright, and almost immediately ready for action once their ice-shells are defrosted-

-Unlike the Autobots in Transformers Prime, who start shutting down quickly after being in the cold for what appeared to be just a few hours.

It may be that the RB weren't exposed to the cold for as long, but I feel like the level of cold that hit and flash-froze them in a matter of seconds would've been more devastating to their systems than a slow exposure to elements that chill over a longer period. (Like the difference between sitting on a hot sidewalk barefoot for extended periods vs touching the rack of a preheated oven for just a brief moment)

But another thing we see is that the Rescue Bots are capable of shivering, which- like humans- would allow them to keep their core temperature up. We do not see the Autobots capable of this.

"Rescue Bots Are Built Different"

It was initially an ask, but I felt like this required a true post...

So on top of my previous post about their cold tolerance, there are some other things that I've noticed that set Sigma 17 specifically apart from other bots within the continuity/world they reside in.

HIGHER PAIN TOLERANCE

Cybertronians have been seen to be able to take serious punishment and hits and still get back up, but these guys take it to an extreme-

Chase skis behind a runaway car, his feet are literally smoking and red-hot when they finally stop, and all he does is complain about how there has to be another way to stop runaway vehicles.

In the same episode, Blades' feet are charred by a lightning strike, which can pass through the air at 50,000 degrees Fahrenheit, and he's still able to stand directly after (until other system failures later on paralyzed him)

Cece flung Heatwave and he flipped over multiple times and was able to walk it off... You get the idea.

HIGHER DURABILITY

While in Prime we see both Autobots and Decepticons alike taking scratches, dents, and the like-

-Sigma Seventeen never seems to have that problem. Their paint stays fresh, and dings and dents are barely referenced, even after they've been through the wringer and back. I mean, guys-

-There's nothing from a dinobot standing on your hood?

MULTI-CHANGE

It's established by Optimus Primue in the series that multi-changing is not a common thing achieved by cybertronians, and even those that can rarely are able to do so on their first attempt to access this power. He is even impressed by Heatwave's success on his first try. However, the fact that all four of them were able to do so on their first try-

-That's gotta be something unique. (Optimus going dino is exempt because- well, he's Optimus Prime.)

Also, it's established in Rescue Bots Academy that in order for some bots to achieve multi-change, they have to have access to the Multi-Cog...

...Which is a unique artifact in itself and isn't easily obtained by just anyone. (it's implied in the first season that there is only the one that is lent to Hotshot, and the others were found later and that their discovery was a major one for cybertronian history)

Heatwave might actually hold the record for most forms held by one bot and NOT losing their mind from it, so add "Stronger Psyche" to his attributes.
