You may have noticed as posting more jazz albums in today’s posts... as we shared when we started, there were so many records that we didn’t really have a chance to look everything over before the sale got started (and that wasn’t really our intention, anyway). Now that several hundred of you have come through and shared your finds (and as we’ve had a chance to see what you’re finding), we’ve learned that the collection is rich in classic country (which we had figured out), but it’s also teeming with jazz and soul/funk. You’ve repeatedly expressed surprise at the overall condition, and you’ve been enthusiastic about your finds. One of you even wandered into the building by mistake today, and walked out 10 minutes later with 15 records you already knew your wife would love... It may seem a little crazy for us to be clearing out records that are worth more than $5, but we’re ready to be done: we don’t aspire to run a record store: we just want to get this incredible music back out there so it can be discovered all over again... And so, tomorrow, we will improve conditions for discovery by cutting the price on all records: $5/LP, $2/45rpm, and $5 per book of 78s.
