Dear folks, well it’s bad news for the Ford Explorer. The water pump is bad and on the 2013 model it’s basically inside the engine wrapped around the timing chain. It’s a massive job. When I bought the car and they told me the water pump was going bad I figured it was a simple and easy fix, something I have done on many vehicles in the past. Not the case on this car. Not only does it require special tools but the job itself is about 11 hours of labor. Even the Ford automotive centers quote is the same. It is $2000 to fix this problem. The car is right now at Duncan automotive and they are starting the work tomorrow. Right now transporting dogs back-and-forth to the office for appointments is going to be extremely hard. We are going to do our best. All adoption fee is right now will be going towards fixing the car. We really can’t do anything right now without the vehicle. The car should be done by Wednesday or Thursday next week so we were hoping to work really hard this week and get this money together.
