Snapdragon - 2021 💐 I wish I could tell you #rescuework was easy and fun and rainbows 🌈 & sunshine ☀️ all the time. The reality is the work is hard, sometimes sad, sometimes draining and we don't always win every battle. The same goes for the animals 🐱🐶 I work for and I am honored to care for and serve everyday. They don't have it easy, their journey is tough and sometimes we take several steps 🐾🦶🏽back before we take one step forward. Every day is different, but I still have the same goal.... SAVE AS MANY AS I CAN. Pictured here is Snapdragon. While her journey and the fur-ever happy ending to her story hasn't been written yet, we know she has bigger and brighter days ahead...... BUT look into her eyes.... I know you can see it..... the pain she has gone through..... the tough life she has lived..... the past she wants to leave behind. She won't tell you about it, she isn't even dwelling on it.... she let it go months ago.... all she wants now are belly rubs, wet kisses and lots of delicious doggie snacks. She won't tell you she was used for making/breeding puppies 🥺 to be sold on the internet, she won't tell you she was left for dead, dumped on a street corner in #Detroit with 4 puppies to nurse.... and survival for her meant surviving to save her babies. She won't tell you she had to scavenge for food or that she may have even eaten rocks 🪨 along the way to fill her empty stomach. She won't tell you about her heartworm diagnosis or the treatment & medication she had to go through to become healthy again. No, she won't tell you any of that..... All she will tell you about is how happy she is to see you and that she is grateful to be your friend. While she has had a hard beginning, I want her to have a beautiful and happy rest of her days...... She is a very special, gentle and loving soul. Any love you show her, she will give you back 1000%. Despite her hard past, she is a sweet, happy and loves your company.
