I can’t do a ten years as Sir Merlin Fuzzybutt is only seven but here he is in my lap (come home Merlin!) then as a kitten when we first rescued him and another of him and his sister Dame Rose Elizabeth Tyler of Hogwarts. I’ve been thinking more lately about my dream shelter. Merlin is still missing but if we were living in a CatVetCommunity I’d be more likely to find him. Partly because it would be fully fenced and partly because in a community of rescuers it’s easier to get help looking! When you’re disabled trying to walk around searching for your cat is nigh on impossible (I can’t find the charger for my electric wheelchair). Yesterday I went to a cat adoption event that also had senior dogs there and thought once again how lovely it would be to have an intentional community of foster families. Especially with a vet clinic on the property to keep the animals healthy. Plus having rescued animals live in homes, no matter how small is SO much better for them than cages, no matter how big. And with a fenced property with dedicated rescuers there would even be space for ferals to live in comfort. Just a thought.
