I need to make 3 new friends in pokemon go for the new research task
So here's my code again😅: 7972 6715 9018
EDIT: Thank you to everyone who sent me a request! I've reached the max number of requests and friends you can have. I've noticed that the number of friends is dropping so I'm assuming it's because some people just wanted to make a new friend for the research quest. I'll keep the requests for now and just add people when there's room in my friend list!
Wood chips for research
Elsi and her party decided to do another task:
"Please teach two different species pokemon how to use Chip Away so we can document how differently the move affects multiple pokemon! Pokemon need not be part of your ranch so long as you're capable of showing us the difference. You will be rewarded for your efforts."
Let's be friends in Pokémon GO! My Trainer Code is 8348 6805 5393!
I need more friends for the new research task!
Hey, if anyone wants to be pals on Pokemon Go, here’s my Trainer Code! Yes, I’ve posted this before, but you can never have too many pals! (Also, making a new friend is a research task. On a related note, let me know if you’d like to trade any Pokemon. :))
Gender and Sexuality in Games
POSITIVE EXAMPLES OF GENDER + SEXUALITY IN VIDEOGAMES
>> Life is Strange – I mean really where to begin with Life is Strange, it’s suuuuuper gay and the main protagonists are women and both are extremely fleshed out (and that sounds like it could be a euphemism for showing hella skin but I swear they’re teenagers and even Square Enix wouldn’t do that in a French game about time travelling girls in a private art school) 2014, Square Enix
>>Transistor – Instead of being a damsel in distress, Red pretty much saves the world using this giant popsicle sword thing that… absorbs peoples’ essences…. I think… And the little tidbits of back story that we get from the NPCs shows that some of Cloudbank’s leading thinkers and inventors were gay and bi (there are a few theorised good NPCs and three of the main antagonists are queer; however, the Camerata’s evil has nothing to do with their being queer though, and they aren’t really shown as being stereotypical gays), but it’s never weird and sensationalised. They’re celebrated for their achievements, and the gay bit is just an aside. (tangent: which is how I think it should be tbh, unless the achievement is intrinsically linked to queerness and sexuality; a person’s identity doesn’t have to be “I’M SUPER GAY and also I’ve done all these good things in the field of (whatever)”… god I hate identity politics.) Red was a singer rendered mute, and is steered by her bodyguard/boyfriend in sword form, which does interesting things to the power balance (usually it’s a woman on voice over, looking after the man on comms – this is a refreshing flip of the narrative), but in the end it’s a woman kicking ass in a Klimt-esque city with an amazing soundtrack, and sacrificing herself to save the world, and it’s not in a weird “woman’s place is BLEEDING ON THE BIRTHING BED” way. (side-eyeing a Dr Who episode form 2012 haha) 2014, Supergiant Games
NEGATIVE EXAMPLES OF GENDER + SEXUALITY IN GAMES
>> Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain – I mean…. //I MEAN….// Look at this shit. What the fuck you guys. They even tried to justify it with STORY REASONS by saying she basically photosynthesises (or breathes primarily through her skin) or something. GUYS. COME ON. This is so blatantly eye-candy, male-gaze pander-y, and ultimately super gross. I mean she’s not a damsel in distress or Cortana (oh god don’t even get me started on Cortana * note, I will get started on Cortana in a different blog post* ) but for real guys what is this. 2015, Kojima Productions
>> Streets of Rage 3 – there’s a gay boss in it called Ash, who is portrayed as excessively effeminate and wears super tight clothes. I don’t have a lot to say about this one, so I’ll just say that stereotypes hurt, and this “representation” of a gay man is pretty offensive to someone who identifies as gay, and the fact that he’s a story mode antagonist doesn’t really help matters either. HOWEVER, this is a game from 1994, so I mean… as much as I hate this, it was the norm at the time to portray LGBT people in in stereotypical and often offensive ways. This is a game of its time in this respect. 1994, SEGA
These are the four examples for the task, but I’ll expand both lists further in a separate post.
Sooooo I need to make another friend on pokemon go for the last research task...again 😅
