My name is Martine-Renae Ofosu-amaah, in 13 ABL. I am a very creative and open minded individual, interested in different genres of music. I am the type of person who does not have a specific genre of music to always listen to, if i hear a song and I like it, i’ll download it. Regardless of the genre. In my group I have Rianna Louis-Xavier and Sara Bashier who both have very different of genres of music they are interested in. However, by exploring a wide range of genres and music videos, it will help us with understanding the general music conventions and styles to become familiar with, so when it comes to creating our own music video, we will be recognizable to it.

This music is fairly conventional to the indie genre as the narrative is based on a personal journey. The parallel editing in this video creates sympathy for both protagonists as the events happening are happing at the same time but is sad that they cross paths on many occasions but never meet.
The way it shows both of their lives happening at the same time, creates tension form the audience as it makes them hope and wonder if they’ll ever meet, and when they do it romanticises their love story.

This video is fairly conventional to the indie genre as it creates the sympathy as it clearly the struggles of life and how the smallest thing could turn everything around.
The sympathy is also created as they both wasn’t happy with their lives as she ran away from an unwanted marriage and he wasn’t happy within his own life and they ran away together and fell in love, then almost die together but also how they survived together.
