“Off the beaten-path”
Barefoot walkshop series for Nene Park Peterborough commissioned by Peterborough Presents.
Summer 2019
TBC
With a focus on walking as art. A series of four experiential group walkshops at different times of the day in different areas of Nene Park with different groups of participants. Witha focus on mindful grounding exercises together we explored the benefits or barefoot walking or “Earthing/Grounding” as it is scientifically known. We also created our very own mini temporary path installations from materials gathered in the park during a silent ritual to mark the end of each session.

Walk one: Families
Walk two: Families
Walk Three: Open Sunset Evening Wander
Walk Four: An early morning session before the working day for the staff and volunteers introducing them to a new way of connecting to a space they work in everyday and to a route they rarely take. Quite often even though we work in green spaces, we rarely get to enjoy them. This was taking them off the beaten track to the Roman Point, an area with Roman ruins for a multilayered deeper connection also.
