Primary Research 4

To conclude my primary research I decided to follow the advice that was given to me, to observe myself.

I found it difficult to do because I I could only go by what I think of myself and what others think of me and how I’ve been described in the past.

I deemed it useless to ask my family as they are automatically bias and kept giving me the positive side of my personality and not a balanced opinion/reflection of my personality.

UPDATE:

So before I said “I had to think about who people were which isn’t something I normally do.”

It was hard but not as hard as I thought. Until, my last person that I had to observe.

She comes across as being quite different to the other girls that I observed. The others came across as being introverts.

However after observation, it came across that she fakes being an extrovert, in a way it could be considered as a protective mechanism. As if without this facade, she would simply fall apart.

I know  that finding an element of nature to fit this person’s personality will be quite hard.

Possibly a pomegranate may be ideal as without the outside, all the arils would be all over the place. With the skin it is all held together

Mostly black and white images or sepia images

They vary from landscapes and portraits to very contemporary images.

Classic work from the 1980s.

No comment or explanation about each image.

The viewer is to look into these pictures to see what he or she is prepared to see.

If there is comment, it is caused by the juxtapositions of each image.

I wasn’t sure about how I was going to approach my primary research for my project. I decided the best way is by people observing.

I’ve decided that the way that I will do this is by engaging in conversation with my friends in class and other people to see what sort of aura they throw off and look at what kind of element from nature I can lin to them based n their personality.

Karl Davis

Used a process called photogram.

A photographic print made by laying objects onto photgraphic paper and then exposing it to light.

A way of creating silhouette/photographic prints without using a camera.

Done in a darkroom.

Alfred Stieglitz took pains to publish the work from two vantages - Front + Left profile.

Brassaï shot work from Front + ¾ face, but were never reproduced together.

Multiple/ Time Lapse exposure processes have a large role in avant-garde visuals inn the early 20th century.

Double Exposure has been used to show multiple views and the act of rotation.
