This is so hard…top 3 when there are so many potential candidates 😭. It’s cliche, but Chris and Leon are definitely on that list for men. It’s odd how I see most of the RE men being switches/subs, because the ladies are giving me DOM energy. Sorry if the below is messy and not proofread, I’m writing this in between work breaks.
Let’s start with LEON.
When I saw TRUE SWITCH, I mean it with my everything. He’s not a sub. He’s not a dom. He’s whatever his partner feels the most comfortable with him being. I really don’t think he’s inherently a sub (especially with RE2R), because being respectful and considerate doesn’t necessarily equate to sub-energy. I have this headcanon that Leon is always trying to affirm his masculinity because his softer features and sensitive soul has been mistaken for weakness since adolescence - so, I feel like he would assume a lead role (because he has that old fashioned assumption that a man always leads) unless it’s clear that his partner wanted him to follow instead (because he is chivalrous and that means prioritizing his partner). I don’t think he’s extremely kinky, but I feel like he’s someone who is willing to explore a bit as long as there is strong trust between him and his partner.
Next, we have CHRIS.
True SUB at heart but the RE narrative forces him to assume a DOM persona. The thing with Chris is that I feel like he’s less likely to trust someone unless they proven themselves, and that’s very valid of him because he has such a heart of gold but the RE narrative insists that he suffers if he’s going to be a consistent character in the series (and Wesker really did a number on him). There was an official Capcom material that described one of STARS Chris’ negative traits as laziness, so I’m taking this and headcanon-ing that this “alpha” is actually a pillow princess. I feel like he is just very tired from it all, because he never catches a break - he was seriously considering retirement in RE6 but we all know what ended up happening. I headcanon that Chris is actually less sexually active than Leon (he is always on-duty as an active BSAA operative and always surrounded by his colleagues, we know Chris tries to be professional and he hates abuse of authority so I think it would be rare for him to do causal hookups within the BSAA pool), so his partner would really have to be something serious in order to have intimacy like that with him. I feel like Chris is not kinky at all, after a life of hardships, he prefers the softer things in life and is probably the most vanilla. No rough or impact play with him (even if he’s receiving), because he wants a clear distinction from the violence in his life and we should all know by now that Chris has a hard time finding compromise.
I can’t settle on a third but I’m leaning towards ETHAN.
He won this last spot (but not least) spot because he is THE Wife Guy. It’s been 3 years since Mia went MIA and he still chases the lead (without informing authorities). Even after all the craziness of RE7, he is still loving towards Mia in RE8. I always say that the Winters Couple is the freakiest couple, but what does Capcom mean when they said Mia knew he was mold and still had unprotected sex with him thus leading to a baby??? We see with how Mia is always leading the conversation whenever they talk, this makes me believe that Mia is also leading the bedroom activities. Ethan will do anything with him wife, and I just know they DID do some things. Bondage, sucking Mia’s toes, a cock ring…I feel like there is more but my vanilla brain just can’t find the name for them.
