Q had been putting off the idea of swimming, despite accepting the offers for any other 'life experience' Alex offered him at this point, until it was finally too warm and he had to admit that water would be nice. He'd actually meant a glass of water but that was apparently not the offer. With a pair of freshly bought shorts and a t-shirt he wasn't overly eager to remove, Q had been sitting with his legs in the water as he watched Alex swim with obvious fondness. "Come here?" He asked quietly, waiting for Alex to pull himself up beside him onto the deck. "Just stay there, if I start sinking you have to pull me out." Q ordered with as much firmness as he was able to muster. With a deep breath to steel his courage, Q pulled off his t-shirt and slipped into the water; there was a moment of alarm as he realised just how deep it was before he grabbed onto the side and pulled himself back to the desk, settling between Alex's legs. He sunk down a little lower into the cool water, briefly wondering just when the anticipated fear was going to appear. Only for nothing to happen. Looking up at Alex as understanding dawned on him; of course, he felt safe, Alex was right there. A small, joyous laugh bubbled up before he pulled himself upwards just enough to press a kiss to Alex's stomach. "Okay, you were right. This is lovely."
He's ALWAYS enjoyed being in the water. Maybe it comes with the lake house, he thinks, but then he'd always enjoyed it before then, too. It's calming, in a way, different than when he runs, though Alex enjoys that still, even if he doesn't have as much time for it anymore as he used to.
"Of course," he offers the other man a smile, waiting as he watches, carefully, to make sure Q is alright. He does trust him though, much like Q trusts Alex, and maybe that's why it works out so well. There's no flinch, and no fear it seems, and Alex feels a surge of PRIDE in his chest.
"See? I told you that you could do it," He chuckles, running his hand through the other man's hair softly at the kiss. The sun's shining down hotly on them, just the way Alex likes it actually, and he's...happy, he realizes. "Come up here," He then adds softly, patting the spot next to himself.
