Not-so-new ‘verse(s)

Resistance!verse (taken from my verses page)

Ben Solo was never corrupted by the Dark Side. He finished his Jedi training alongside Briallen Le'ode'grace and the rest of Luke Skywalker’s apprentices, then joined his parents in the Resistance. Briallen joined alongside him, then returned briefly to Jakku in order to bring her family into the fold. As such, Guin'nevir, her brother Elyan, and their father Thomas have spent the past decade or so as part of the Resistance. Thomas as one of their mechanics, working on T-70 X-Wings and other mechanized operations. Elyan works both as a mechanic and as a fighter pilot. And Guin began her training as a Jedi shortly after joining her mother on D'Qar. After studying as Briallen’s apprentice, but learning from both her mother and Ben, she knows know that she leans more toward the path of a Grey Jedi and a Jedi healer than either the Light Side or the Dark side. (Age 11-24)

Ben Solo never becoming Kylo Ren doesn’t mean Kylo Ren never existed. He did, but they are two different people. Kylo Ren still murdered Briallen Le'ode'grace and the other apprentices. Thomas had already joined the Resistance, bringing Elyan and Guin with him to D'Qar, five years before the massacre. Guin knows she’s Force-sensitive–having found out when Ben returned to the Resistance base but her mother didn’t, after a nightmare that very closely matched the young Jedi apprentice’s story–but she has no training in it as of yet other than what it took to figure out how to use the Force for healing. (Age 11-25)

Healer Heal Thyself

Guin sensed Leia’s Force signature before the older woman entered the medbay and reached for her tunic where it lay at the end of the cot in her station. She knew Leia had seen the scars–most of them nearly unnoticeable, but a few very pronounced–that littered her torso, but she figured it must be something the other was used to seeing. Perhaps it was a bit strange to see a healer–especially a Force Healer–with scars, but it had taken Guin a long time to reach her current position, and she hadn’t been a healer for most of it. Pulling her arms through the tunic’s sleeves and tucking it in place, she turned to face Leia with a smile and some concern. “General Organa, what brings you to the medbay? Is something wrong?”

Guin inhaled sharply through gritted teeth as the damp cloth in the young man’s hand came in contact with the cut on her brow. He was gentle and careful, but it still hurt. Though Guin supposed she ought to be grateful she hadn’t landed in the sand or on duracrete when she fell. Sand in a cut was not fun, and landing head first on duracrete would have left very little of her head for the Jedi–Ben, right? That was his name?–to clean.

“Erm…thank you,” she mumbled when he’d finished and placed a bacta patch over the cut. Sixteen years living on Jakku, she wasn’t very used to being tended to by anyone other than her brother or father.

Headcanon

Regarding scars in my Star Wars verses (not including Space Queen!verse): Guin has a multitude of scars. Most of them are small things, including the sort of tiny scars you get from wind and from working with your hands. Constellations of pale dots from the sands blown around on Jakku. That sort of thing. She also has a few noticeable scars in these verses, from worse injuries. Those are detailed below.

Star Wars!verse, Resistance!verse/Resistance!verse subset:

Clawmarks on her right shoulder from being attacked by a gnaw-jaw her first time out scavenging on Jakku

A blaster bolt scar on her left bicep from when she was still learning how to use the Force to heal

Another blaster bolt scar direct center beneath her ribs from defending a friend from mercenaries--she nearly didn’t survive that battle, and was lucky her friend got her to a medcenter in time

Dark Side!verse:

A small surgical scar near right hip from having her appendix removed

A gash on her upper arm and two scars (one front and one back) just below her ribs on the left side from fighting a bounty hunter who wielded a cortosis-weave enhanced vibrosword

Two nearly invisible silvery lines beside her right eye, reminiscent of claw marks, from her mask being knocked from her face

Bring Her Home

Briallen walked the corridors of the Resistance base on D’Qar, not in an entirely hurried manner, but still quite energetically. She had just spent a good portion of an hour speaking with General Organa on the topic of bringing her family from Jakku to join her as part of the Resistance. It had taken that long to convince the general that, not only would the family Briallen had left behind when she began her Jedi training be more than willing to get off the dirtball where they barely survived, but they could be of use to the Resistance. Thomas was an excellent mechanic and could figure out the workings of a ship within seconds, as could her son Elyan and daughter Guin’nevir. Eventually, General Organa had agreed to let her go, with one condition: she not go alone. If something happened, the general didn’t want to risk losing a valuable fighter, so she required Briallen to take backup. So the Jedi ended up searching for the younger Jedi who’d been her closest friend during their training: Ben Solo.
