She never expected to wake up with him saying those words. Why was he so calm about it? The bed sheets were ruined, the mattress too probably with the amount that had leaked throughout the night. How could he be so calm, but then again - she wasn’t panicking either.
“Oh” she muttered, a state of shock coming over her as she looked down between her legs at the blood, a hand instantly going to her bloated, cream coated stomach. “Well... that’s not a good sign” Hanji simply spoke, her skin pale and body starting to shake as she laid there.
Maybe her father had gotten what he hoped for the moment she told them that she was expecting Levi’s baby. Oh, how he had blown the vein in his head and neck about her getting knocked up out of marriage. A demon of the family. How dare a Christian child enjoy science and not believe in the ‘God created the earth’ stories. How dare a Christian child have sex before marriage. One thing she did do, was keep the child.
“Levi” Hanji looked up at him, putting her glasses on and pushing herself up, the bump she’d been carrying for six months having been completely still. “Can you take me to hospital?” she simply asked, standing up but going lightheaded straight away.
