Ahh, I'm so glad you like those two books, too! The Blue Castle is such a supremely satisfying story, the way it ends and Valancy's heartbreak just before it all turns out so well - ahh! And then all the stories in A Tangled Web - Jocelyn and Hugh, Gay and her heartbreak (and HORRIBLE Nan), then finally realising it was Roger all along, Margaret and Brian's stories, the gross injustice of Brian's tragic young life, and the worst thing ever, his kitten (*weeps*), and all the humour - the two Sams and their feud stands out in particular. Such good books!!! Have you read Jane of Lantern Hill? If not, I recommend it. Jane is possibly Montgomery's most satisfying female character. I love Anne but she was always a little wet behind the ears for me. And Emily is wonderful - but so sad. Jane has spirit but not the annoying, Anne-brand spirit. :P
