This isn't the first time he's had to protect Saskia when it came to dealing with the creatures of the Upside Down - the bats had attempted to attack her and on instinct, he stepped in. The creatures turned their attention to him while Eddie and Dustin helped Saskia get away; Having to do so by force as she tried to fight to stay.
Luckily, despite his wounds, he managed to kill them all and Eddie had come back for him, helping Alaire back through the portal. The metal head unfortunately had to lay low after everything, but at least Alaire had been saved. Currently, Eddie is hiding out at the their place; Alaire and Saskia's.
Alaire, however, is still in the hospital. Not as bad as he was as by now he's healed up a bit, but God, does he still hurt all over. As one would when they were having bites taken out of them by well.. anything, really. It's safe enough for him to go home now, at least. Saskia is supposed to be on her way to pick him up and luckily, just as she's walking through the hospital doors he's finished being discharged.
Stubborn, he chose to walk to her rather than borrow a chair from the hospital. It's just that he missed her and the majority of the time he'd been in the hospital? He hadn't been conscious. When she's close, he can't help but to hug her tight. Not too tight because he couldn't, but still. "I want to go home."
He hated hospitals. A lot.
