Have you noticed the new group chat events we have planned? Did you find yourself saying “3 Responsive Parenting Mentors? Who are these other two people?” Well, allow me to introduce my dear friends and colleagues; Alyssa Manella and Erin Shaw. I was unsure about how much I wanted to share about my bond with these ladies but honestly, they are my village. They have been the silent support system for my business and my personal life, over the last 10 years. They have guided and supported me through so many challenging times. I really could not be more honoured and excited to have them officially join me on this journey. I distinctly remember when my friendship began with each of them. We went to college together but we were all returning students, in ages ranging through our twenties. We ended up in the same cohort for our Diploma in ECE. Alyssa and I were put in the same placement. It was the gold standard for placement; the college’s lab school. In the lunch room one day, we began chatting, and a friendship began. We found comfort in each other’s support. It was nice to always have someone to sit with and chat to. She became the perfect partner (which is so hard to find). We have always worked so well together. It was always my dream to continue to work with her, throughout my life. In the same semester, I met Erin. We were in the same ECE cohort together but we also had an elective class together with a 3 hour break in between. Given we both were too far from home to leave, we stayed for the 3 hour break. Well one day we parked ourselves outside the classroom and began a 3 hour over-sharing session, complete with tears and hugs. A friendship was born of common interests, opinions, experiences and an ability to connect. Erin cares deeply for others and being her friend is an honour and privilege. Continued in comments.....
